Is this the right fit?

Use a business-tax specialist when the entity creates its own filing obligations.

The forms and planning depend on legal structure, tax classification, owners, states, transactions, accounting records, and elections.

01The business files Form 1065, 1120-S, 1120, 990, 1041, or related state returns.
02K-1s, owner basis, compensation, distributions, or elections must be coordinated.
03Activity in multiple states may create filing or registration obligations.
04Books, estimates, extensions, and year-end planning need one consistent process.

Connected compliance

A business return affects more than the entity’s tax bill.

Entity income, deductions, credits, compensation, distributions, basis, and state activity can flow into owner returns and future planning.

We connect the return to the books, owner reporting, entity decisions, and next-year estimates so the work remains consistent across the full filing picture.

How we help

Business tax work organized around the entity and its owners.

The scope depends on entity type, states, owners, revenue and expense complexity, transactions, records, and deadlines.

01

Entity return preparation

Prepare agreed federal and state returns for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, nonprofits, estates, and trusts.

02

Owner reporting

Coordinate K-1s, basis information, compensation, distributions, and other owner-level items within scope.

03

Estimates & extensions

Calculate agreed entity or owner payment amounts and file extensions when authorized.

04

Multi-state filings

Evaluate nexus and filing needs created by property, people, sales, ownership, or operations in multiple jurisdictions.

05

Tax elections & credits

Identify applicable elections, timing decisions, credits, and documentation needs.

06

Year-round planning

Review changes in profitability, compensation, capital purchases, ownership, and transactions before year-end.

Clear scope

Define the entities, owners, jurisdictions, and filings before work begins.

Business returns vary significantly; the engagement identifies exactly which forms and related schedules are included.

The work may include

  • Agreed federal, state, and local entity returns
  • Owner schedules and K-1 coordination
  • Tax-basis and fixed-asset schedules within scope
  • Estimated-payment or extension calculations
  • Year-end planning recommendations

You receive

  • Completed agreed business tax returns
  • Owner reporting packages where applicable
  • Payment and filing instructions
  • A list of unresolved information or risks
  • Next-year estimate or planning priorities when included

Important: Business tax fees and timing may change when books are incomplete, records arrive late, ownership or state activity is complex, specialized research is required, or additional returns and elections are identified.

Common questions

Clear answers before the first conversation.

Business return requirements depend on both legal form and tax classification.

Which business tax returns do you prepare?

Depending on scope, we prepare returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, LLCs with various tax classifications, nonprofit organizations, estates, trusts, and related state or local filings.

Is an LLC tax return always required?

No. An LLC’s federal filing depends on the number of owners and tax elections. A single-member LLC may be reported on the owner’s return unless it elects another classification, while state filings and fees may still apply.

Do you coordinate the business and owner’s individual return?

Yes, when both are within scope. K-1s, owner basis, compensation, distributions, estimated payments, and other pass-through items can be coordinated across the returns.

What if the bookkeeping is not complete?

The records may need reconciliation or cleanup before the return can be prepared accurately. We identify the work and separately scope it when necessary.

Can you advise on an S corporation election?

Yes. We evaluate entity eligibility, owner services, economics, reasonable compensation, state consequences, timing, and administrative requirements before recommending an election.
